HISTORY

Chapel & York Limited was incorporated in London in September 1997. It is headquartered near London, England, with offices in Washington, DC, and Wilmington, Delaware, USA. 

Conceived as a company to publish a regular information update for charitable organizations planning to fundraise internationally, focussed particularly on the USA, it quickly identified a demand for:

  1. - Directories of international grant makers, America, Europe, Asia Pacific.

  2. - “How to” books including the legal and tax issues relating to international grant making.

  3. - Services to set up and manage US non-profit organizations with a mission to fund charitable organizations outside the USA, e.g. universities, development organizations, arts organizations, etc.
    - Training
  4. opportunities.

SINCE 1997 CHAPEL & YORK HAS:

  • - Set up and provided management services for over 150 American non-profits that support major charitable organizations outside the USA.  These US non-profits have raised over $175 million for projects all over the world.
  • - Undertaken in depth research to identify potential funders for nearly 60 major non-profit clients.
  • - Set up, managed, and promote a US non-profit, The American Fund for Charities that has worked with 600 smaller charities and their supporters worldwide to raise $20 million for their work.
  • - More recently set up, managed, and promote a UK charity, The UK Fund for Charities, that has worked with over 75 charities and their supporters worldwide to raise over £1.5 million for their work.
  • - Set up and managed UK charities that support universities and other charitable organizations based in Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere.
  • - Provided training for nearly 4,500 non-profits worldwide, including in Europe, India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
  • - Sold thousands of directories and “how to” books about international fundraising.
  • - Provided a monthly free e-info service, Grants & Resources, to over 14,000 organizations worldwide.
  • - Provided an Unlimited Helpline for its clients.
