INTERNATIONAL
The Mattel Children's Foundation has announced it awarded forty-two grants in thirty-eight countries totaling more than $1 million the past year as part of its international grants program.
Twenty-one programs in European countries received grants totaling $525,000. In France, the foundation awarded $25,000 to Enfance et Partage (french website), which advocates for children impacted by violence. In Germany, the IFB's Kaenguru program received support to construct a unique petting zoo designed for children with autism and others with difficulty communicating. Outside of Europe, international grants were distributed to organizations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, and Venezuela.
