Fundraising from Europe
Europe, including the United Kingdom, is, potentially, vitally important for any charitable organization searching for funds, whether based inside or outside Europe. Europe has some of the largest grant making foundations and trusts in the world in addition to a large and generally well paid workforce and some of the largest companies as well as giving programmes funded by individual countries. And in addition to all that, the European Union has its own large and well funded giving programme. Many European grant makers will fund non-profits and projects outside Europe. But Europe also presents problems for fundraisers: many different languages, different attitudes towards philanthropy, different legal systems, and different currencies. The information offered by Chapel & York addresses some of these issues, and although currently all the material in UK English only, it is completely up to date.
