Fundraising from the UK

Setting Up and Maintaining a Charity in the United Kingdom

Chapel & York can provide a variety of services tailored to help organisations outside the UK who want or already have their own UK registered charity:

1. Set up a UK registered charity - £2,500.00

2. Set up a UK registered charity as in 1. above and provide additional administration
services in connection with opening bank/brokerage/credit card accounts;  advise and liaise with trustees/directors during the process;  advise on first meeting of trustees/ directors following charity set up; provide an unlimited helpline throughout the process - £5,000.00

3. Provide an Annual Maintenance service for a UK registered charity, including an unlimited helpline - £1,837.50 pa.

4. Take over the Annual Maintenance of your existing UK registered charity - £500.00

Annual Maintenance Service:

Chapel and York can also provide an annual service, undertaking everything necessary to maintain a Registered Charity in the UK.

  1. Technical and Financial
    - Make Gift Aid Returns to HMR&C to recover tax.
    - Coordinate annual accounts and providing financial and narrative information to accountant/auditor
    - File statutory Annual Returns as required by Charity Commission and Companies House.
    - Ensure Annual General Meeting takes place and actions are appropriately documented.
    - Ensure other Meetings occur or Resolutions are passed to document grants or other activities and   actions are appropriately noted.


  2. Administrative/Secretarial
    - Provide an address in the UK for receipt of donations.
    - Handle receipt,  banking and acknowledgement of donations.
    - Open bank and brokerage accounts with agreed suppliers.
    - Maintain a database of donors and donations.
    - Provide reports on activities undertaken as agreed
  5. .

  6. The above maintenance service costs £1,837.50 + VAT [where applicable] per annum.
     (Accountant/auditor’s fee is not included in Chapel & York’s maintenance service costs)

    Advice

  7. - Provide an unlimited helpline to answer questions relating to the operation of the UK registered charity.
  8. Chapel & York can also provide additional support such as printing and mailing fundraising materials and providing Event administration services at an agreed price separate from the maintenance service.
