Comprised of HSBC, the Climate Group, the Earthwatch Institute, the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, and the World Wildlife Fund, the HSBC Climate Partnership will build on HSBC's previous five-year, $50 million "eco-partnership," Investing in Nature, which concluded in 2006. The latest commitment by the company represents both the largest charitable donation ever made by a British company and the largest contribution ever received by each of the nonprofit partners. See Press Release.
The American Fund for Charities is a US non-profit organization, which supports the work of charitable organizations throughout the world. It operates a program for charitable organizations to make themselves known to potential funders, particularly within the US philanthropic community.
Has announced that it is reorganizing its main charitable department and fundamentally changing its worldwide giving priorities. As part of the shift, the company will refocus its giving, which had targeted education and diversity, on three areas: water cleanliness and supply, recycling with an emphasis on sustainable packaging, and fitness.
A total of 144 organizations recently were awarded $100.3 million in grants. Organizations receiving grants ranged throughout the world in the Foundation’s six primary areas of interest: education, population, global development, the environment, performing arts and philanthropy. View
