David Wickert
Executive Director
David is a founder and the CEO of Chapel & York Limited in the USA and UK. He is a trustee of the ASDA Foundation, part of the US Wal-Mart family, and also director of an international media company. He lives in Sussex, England. He specialises in international financing for non-profit and media projects from America and other international sources. He advises companies and non-profits throughout the world.
Educated King’s College London, ordained Episcopalian Priest, from 1972 to 1976 he was a Vicar in Wimbledon and from 1976 to 1986 Vicar in Waterloo, central London, where he established The Waterloo Trust.
In 1977 he co-founded the Upstream Theatre Club, producing plays in London and New York and touring productions worldwide.
From 1986 to 1997 he was a director of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), he launched Gift Aid and Give As You Earn (tax free payroll deduction program) in the UK, and was the founding director of CAF America, a US international grant making organisation based in New York.
He has written or edited numerous books and articles syndicated worldwide including the first edition of the best-seller Directory of American Grantmakers, and he has spoken extensively in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
