UK Reg. Charity number 1097462
The UK Fund for Charities' International Programme was set up to assist charitable organizations outside the United Kingdom maximise their income and fulfil their UK fundraising potential. For example, contributions from donors who are UK taxpayers, can be increased by 28% in reclaimed Gift Aid and transitional relief from the government at current tax rules, (April 2008). This is a particularly significant opportunity for any charity with UK supporters, even just one! The gift can be made in any currency.
The UK Fund normally allocates the following amounts of Gift Aid tax reclaimed towards its administrative costs; 20% on donations up to £100; 10% on the next £9,990; 1% on the remainder. This means that the whole of the gift can normally be passed on the UK Fund International Members. If Gift Aid is not applicable the amount will be deducted from the Gift itself.
The UK Fund determines the eligibility of the organization to receive a grant from the UK Fund and requires an initial fee of £100 from charities and non-profits that want to receive grants towards their work, and £60 per annum to cover its costs in establishing the organization's continued eligibility.
When a grant is received, the charitable organisation
must comply with the terms of the grant including reporting
requirements.
The Trustees of the UK Fund meet quarterly to award grants.
